Héctor Cabrera’s example inspired the 100 attenders of the Bankia Effort Campus


The Paralympic athlete Héctor Cabrera was the chosen speaker to address a motivational talk to the participants of the fourth edition of the Bankia Effort Campus, which since yesterday is taking place at the facilities of Iale Calvestra in Requena, Valencia. The hundred of boys and girls participating in the Campus have changed for a morning of scenery and have occupied the seats of the stands in the central track of L'Alqueria del Basket to learn about the improvement and the effort through the personal experience of Hector as Olympic javelin thrower and world and European medalist in category F12.


The athlete, component of the Elite team of the FER project, has explained to the campers that their capacity to adapt once they were diagnosed with a visual deficiency at the age of nine and has shown them through a documentary how to see the world through his eyes. After explaining how his beginnings were in athletics, Héctor Cabrera explained to the participants in the Bankia Effort Campus which are the pillars on which his daily life is based and how, thanks to them, he manages to face reality with the right attitude to turn adversities into opportunities.
