Hard test for the taronja streak at the court of Divina Seguros Joventut

05/01/2019

Valencia Basket starts 2019 in the Endesa League, visiting the court of Divina Seguros Joventut (Sunday 6, 12:30 am, Olímpic Badalona, Movistar Deportes) in a direct confrontation between two teams that are fighting to get one of the six remaining spots to qualify for the Copa del Rey Madrid 2019. A triumph of the taronja squad in Badalona (Valencia Basket is the fifth ranked with 9-5, with +24 in the basket-average) would keep alive a positive dynamic in the current season that already is of nine wins in a row (he has not lost since November 17th). And although that a win would not qualify the taronja team mathematically for the Copa del Rey 2019, it would be an almost definitive step forward to get the ticket to Madrid.

Valencia Basket will try to change his bad streak on the court of Divina Seguros Joventut, where the taronja squad has lost in its last two visits, in a game in which captain Rafa Martínez will be able to play despite the ankle sprain suffered vs. Unicaja and where captain could become the highest scorer in the history of the Club in the Endesa League. Forward Fernando San Emeterio (fibrillar break in the biceps femoral of his left leg) and playmaker Sergi García (fracture right wrist) still in the injured list.
