Complicated test for the taronja streak with the visit to the court of the leader Barça Lassa

09/05/2019

Valencia Basket closes the Endesa League round 31 visiting the court of the leader Barça Lassa (Friday 10, 21:30h, Palau Blaugrana, #Vamos) in the first of his two meetings in less than 44 hours. With the spot for the Playoffs and the Top-5 position already guaranteed mathematically, the team will try to extend a run that is already of five wins in a row in the Endesa League to seek its next goal: ensure the home-court advantage for the Playoffs. Something that could get on this round 31 if the taronja squad takes the win at the Palau Blaugrana and Unicaja is defeated this afternoon on its own court vs. Montakit Fuenlabrada.

Although the balance in the recent visits to the Barça Lassa’s court are quite balanced, Valencia Basket will try to break a dynamic that is of three consecutive defeats in the Catalan fief. For this, coach Ponsarnau recovers the point-guard Sam Van Rossom, Antoine Diot will travel to Barcelona but it’s questionable and Alberto Abalde (who continues with the recovery after being operated on a finger of the right hand) and Matt Thomas (right thigh bruise) still sidelined.

The Taronja shooting guard will miss a match in which two of the best teams of the Endesa League in the three-points shooting will face each other and in which five of the six best three-point shooters in the Spanish League are in the rosters of those two teams. Valencia Basket currently occupies the fourth position of the Endesa League with a 20-10 in the standings.
