07/09/2019

The first day of the second round of the competition in the FIBA World Cup has left us two of our players qualified for the quarterfinals without playing on this fourth game and two new good performances by Ndour and Dubljevic without the prize of the victory. Spain beat Italy 67-60, got 4-0 and already secured the pass to the qualifiers. Spanish NT will play for first place tomorrow against another undefeated team, Serbia. France took the win against Lithuania by 78-75 and also gets into the quarterfinals with a 4-0 in his standings. The direct duel against Australia will also decide the first place of group L.

Montenegro dominated for a good part of their game against Turkey and entered with advantage in the final stretch, but they missed their first victory in a World Cup to end up falling by 79-74. Senegal also competed well against Germany, although the European victory was clearer and the Germans took the game by 89-78. With this defeat, the Maurice Ndour’s team runs out of options to qualify for the direct place for the Tokyo Olympics that is reserved for the African continent. Both Dubljevic and Ndour will seek Monday to close their participation in the tournament with a victory.
