Shareholders of Valencia Basket Club approved the accounts for the 19-20 season and 20-21 budget

The General Meeting of Shareholders of Valencia Basket Club SAD today approved the accounts for the 2019-2020 season, which have yielded a total Club expense of 22,343,000 euros. Vicente Solá, president of the taronja club, accompanied by the CEO José Puentes and the Director of Management Esteban Gallego have chaired the Board that has ratified that the expense item has been compensated with operating income and with the contribution of its Patrons and principals shareholders, Juan Roig and Hortensia Herrero.

 

During the General Meeting, which had a representation of 72,73% of the shares, the Board of Directors of Valencia Basket Club SAD has reported on the management it plans to apply, consolidating the model it has promoted over the last ten seasons, in which three Eurocup championships, an Endesa League and a Super Cup have been achieved, as well as repeating participation in the Euroleague for the first time, while the women's team consolidates both nationally and internationally, repeating in Eurocup Women. To do this, the Club has increased the budget for the 2020-2021 season in a remarkable effort despite the circumstances, to 24,871,000 euros for the total of the Sports Limited Company (SAD), which the shareholders have also approved.

 

The Club has also communicated that the budget for this season will be compensated with the income from the main contribution of its Patrons, Juan Roig and Hortensia Herrero, complemented with the income from the sponsors, ticket offices, and advertising among other concepts.

 

The managers of the Club and the entire Taronja Family wish to thank all the sponsors and especially Juan Roig and Hortensia Herrero for their tireless support and effort so that València enjoys a high-level basketball that also takes care of the roots through L ' Alqueria del Basket.

 

Sports patronage of Juan Roig

L’Alqueria del Basket is part of Juan Roig's Sports Patronage project. In 2019, invested a total of 27 million euros. They are distributed between the two vehicles through which he channels his vocation to share with the Society what he has received from it. These vehicles are Valencia Basket itself, which it has been supporting for 33 years, and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, which was born in 2012. Juan Roig invested 11 million euros in the Foundation to promote the fifty projects that have been developed in 2019. The other 16 million euros until reaching that figure of 27 went to Valencia Basket.
