Last practice of The ‘One Team IX’ of Valencia Basket

Valencia Basket has closed its ninth project 'One Team' this morning with the tenth and last training session and the delivery of diplomas to the 16 boys and girls between 13 and 17 years old from IES Peset Aleixandre de Paterna who have participated in the program of Corporate Social Responsibility led and promoted by Euroleague Basketball. As in all previous projects, the Club once again had the support of CaixaBank, through the “la Caixa” Foundation.


At the end of the last training session, the young participants received this recognition for their involvement and effort from the head of Social Action at CaixaBank in the Valencian Community, Encarna Alcaide, and the One Team Manager of Valencia Basket, Víctor Luengo.


The head of Valencia Basket for One Team Projects, Víctor Luengo, stressed that “we are very happy to have been able to carry out the activity this year despite all the difficulties of the pandemic, to complete one more One Team activity, from our line of corporate social responsibility of the EuroLeague and to do so in collaboration with the “la Caixa” Foundation and CaixaBank ”. "It is what pushes us and helps us so that projects like this can move forward, and we are very happy that this year we have been able to finish it successfully," he acknowledged.


For her part, Encarna Alcaide pointed out that "one more year we are delighted to be here and to continue collaborating with this Valencia Basket project".


“It is a project with which we collaborate and with which we are very satisfied, because it fits perfectly with our values ​​and our priority lines of help such as childhood, these groups that, through sport, with these activities that carry out everything the year they develop fundamental values ​​for their future ”.


Throughout the ten sessions that this 'One Team IX' has had, the young people belonging to the IES Peset Aleixandre de Paterna have learned through training the rules and fundamentals of basketball as a vehicle to know the values ​​of sacrifice and responsibility derived from organized exercise, to learn to use sport as a formula for personal development and as a stimulus to guide their steps towards finding a way to grow as people in the practice of any sporting activity.
