Opportunity to resurface with La Fonteta against Cazoo Baskonia

01/04/2023

Valencia Basket men's team will have the support of their fans to try to change their dynamics and become strong in La Fonteta to face the hottest team in the Endesa League, Cazoo Baskonia (Sunday 2, 8:00 p.m., Fonteta, #Vamos) in a Liga Endesa round 25 game.

The Taronja squad returns home after chaining four defeats on their tour in the past two weeks and they will need to feel the warmth of their fans at this delicate moment to try to recover the best version and add a win that allows them to keep their distance from their pursuers in the race to enter the playoff of the acb and neither move away from the teams ahead.

A Taronja win would mean ending their bad run at home against this rival (which they have won in their last four visits to Fonteta), would balance the history of clashes between these two teams in the Taronja fiefdom (which is currently in favor of the Baskonista team for 22 to 21) and would allow the team from Vitoria to be knocked down for the first time this season (the Basque team has won in the three previous games this season).

While waiting to find out the exact extent of the right knee injury that prevented Bojan Dubljevic from playing Friday's game in Kaunas, Valencia Basket has problems in the inside game as both Jaime Pradilla and Kyle Alexander (who played twelve minutes in Lithuania after missing ten games with a sprained right ankle) are stretching out the big man rotation despite not yet being fully fledged.

To these are added the confirmed casualties of Klemen Prepelic, Sam Van Rossom and Millán Jiménez and that one of the three non-EU players will not be able to be registered in this game (Jared Harper is currently ruled out), so at least one player from the second team will have to go up to complete the roster if necessary.

Valencia Basket begins this round located in the 8th position of the Endesa League with a record of 13-11.
