Francisco Elson: “With L'Alqueria, Valencia Basket has placed its future in the young players”

01/08/2018

Former NBA player with 9 years of service in the best league in the world Francisco Elson has all the conditions to be a perfect NBA Ambassador. And in that condition has been integrated between the boys and girls of the European teams that are preparing for the first Jr. NBA World Championship in L'Alqueria del Basket and their coaches. Wearing the same clothes Taking part in the warming up. Actively participating in the practice. Francisco jokes with the young athletes who pose next to the Larry O'Brien Trophy and reminds them that won the ring in 2007, when he was part of the San Antonio Spurs squad. Elson seems delighted to return to a city where he lived during the 2001-02 season, when he defended the Valencia Basket jersey. And he is delighted with the facilities of L'Alqueria del Basket, built next to that Fonteta that enjoyed his energy on the court.

The former Dutch player, ambassador of the NBA in this Europe Training Camp, recognizes that "is great for the players to be able to practice here before traveling to Orlando, to the United States".

Elson fondly remembers his time in our city: "My year in Valencia was very good, I have very good memories of my time in Pamesa Valencia, which was the name of the team in that time. The Club has always been kind with me and has changed a lot, I am very happy to return to Spain and also to Valencia"

Asked by L'Alqueria del Basket, Francisco Elson says that "these facilities are very good, very high level and are among the best in Europe. The Club has changed a lot and with L'Alqueria, Valencia Basket has placed its future in the young players. I wish the Club a lot of luck and I am sure that he will work very hard with his players, basketball is about that. What is being done in L'Alqueria del Basket is very good, when I was young there were no facilities like these. It is an incredible opportunity to find high level basketball players"
