Ambassadors Mike Tobey and Tinara Moore join the sixth session of One Team VII


The "One Team Ambassadors" of Valencia Basket, Mike Tobey and Tinara Moore, participated this afternoon in the sixth training session of the Corporate Social Responsibility program of Euroleague Basketball that the taronja entity is developing in L'Alqueria del Basket with a group of young people with whom the NGO Mamás en Acción collaborates.


The two American players have been chosen as the "One Team Ambassadors" of the Valencia Basket for the 2018-19 season and have released that condition this afternoon sharing a session of fun and training with the young participants of the program, who have demonstrated during the exercises the advances they have reached in basketball practice during the previous five sessions to both players.


As it has been a constant in all "One Team" projects in which Valencia Basket has embarked, the ambassadors did not want to miss the appointment, supporting the initiative that Valencia Basket is developing within the Corporate Social Responsibility program of Euroleague Basketball. The main objective of the coaches is that through the practice of basketball the participants live positive experiences and develop healthy habits of personal improvement that can be transferred to school or work, using sports as a vehicle to share social values with boys and girls from different shelters that collaborate with Mamás en Acción, always with the help of Obra Social "La Caixa".


“One Team Ambassadors” valoration

The Valencia Basket center, Mike Tobey, one of the new "One Team" ambassadors of the taronja team, has highlighted his first experience saying that "it was incredible to share a day like today with children, teach them things like how to share or work together as a team, achieve your goals... A great experience, I am very happy".


On the other hand, Tinara Moore also valued the session very pleasantly. "It's been fun, and I don’t think they have much of that at home without their parents, so I think it's fun to have this interaction with them and give them some of the affection they don’t have when they arrive home. There have been fun activities and then they explained to us what the activities were for, like working as a team and writing your own words on the wall, I liked that because you can express yourself and I thought it was fun" she said.


Ten sessions, a goal

This project "One Team VII" has planned ten training sessions that will take place on Tuesdays from tomorrow, November 6 in the afternoon until the month of January. With them, participants are expected to live positive experiences and develop healthy habits of personal improvement that can be transferred to the school or work environment. All this through the learning of the basic concepts of a collective sport such as basketball, which will help participants to know the values ​​of sacrifice and responsibility that derive from organized exercise, use sport as a formula for personal development and direct their steps so that they can find in the practice of any sport activity a way to grow as people


Mamás en acción

In Mamás en Acción become, always in an altruistic way, in moms and dads for a few hours of those children who do not have the closeness of their families, children who are protected by the local government and reside in centers and children's homes enabled for it. , with the objective that these children receive the love and attention that a person of their age requires.


They lend our work to institutions, organizations and associations (parishes, hospitals, NGOs, public centers, schools ...) so that they indicate who can need Moms in Action and dedicating their time to caring for, caring for and giving love to these children. For this reason they always collaborate under the approval of the institutions and the supervision of the professionals and psychologists of these entities. They also carry out different activities both for collecting basic products for these children and their families, and for other actions that get the smiles of all of them.
