14/07/2022

Valencia Basket will know tomorrow its rivals in its first participation in the EuroLeague Women 22-23. The draw will take place at 11:00 on Friday 15 July live on FIBA's Youtube channel at this link.

What is the format of the EuroLeague Women?

A total of 16 teams take part in the regular league competition, divided into two groups of eight. Thirteen of them qualify directly and the remaining three teams qualify through a preliminary qualifying round. Each group of eight teams plays a regular round-robin league. The top four teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals, while the 5th and 6th place teams drop to the EuroCup Women quarter-finals. The EuroLeague Women quarter-finals are played over three legs and the winners qualify for the Final Four, which takes place at the same venue with a single semi-final and final.

What is to be considered for the draw?

According to the rules, a maximum of two clubs from the same country can be drawn in the same regular league group, for countries with up to three clubs in total. Each group can have a maximum of two countries represented by two clubs each and, in case there are exactly two clubs from the same country, those clubs will be placed in different groups if possible.
