Hard challenge for Valencia Basket on the court of an improved Casademont Zaragoza

25/03/2023

Valencia Basket men’s team faces the second stage of its tour of four away games with its particular local "derby" visiting the court of a Casademont Zaragoza at its best moment of the season (Sunday 26, 8:00 p.m., Príncipe Felipe, Movistar Deportes 3) in a Endesa League round 24 game.

The Taronja squad will try to recover with less than two days of recovery from their defeat at AS Monaco to try to keep open both their streak in the Endesa League (four wins in a row) and their recent good dynamics against this rival: they have won in their last seven visits to Zaragoza, they have not lost at the Príncipe Felipe since 2014 and they have won the last fifteen games against the Aragonese team.

To do this, they must maintain their good defensive performance in the last four games in national competition (they have left their rivals at 73.7 points) and achieve offensive fluidity against one of the most difficult defenses to attack in the competition. In the precedent of the first leg, a Taronja victory by 88-76 with 14 points from López-Arostegui and 12 from Pradilla and Chris Jones.

With Kyle Alexander back in Valencia to try to fully recover from the soreness in his right ankle and the need to leave one of three non-EU players out of this game (Jared Harper is the player not currently registered), Valencia Basket will need to use second team players to complete the roster.

Valencia Basket begins this round located in the 8th position of the Endesa League with 13-10 in the standings.
