Valencia Basket closes the Euroleague on the FC Barcelona's court

13/04/2023

Valencia Basket men's team ends its seventh participation in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague visiting the FC Barcelona’s court (Friday 14, 8:30 p.m., Palau Blaugrana, DAZN/Movistar+ dial 65) in a game corresponding to the last round of the Regular Season of the maximum continental competition.

The Taronja team faces this game with the aim of closing its contest in this tournament in the best possible way, seeking to break its losing streak as a visitor in this competition with a win that could allow Valencia Basket to climb a couple of positions in the final standings.

Another of the incentives for Valencia Basket is looking for his first victory at the Palau Blaugrana in European competition, since it is one of the few court in the current Euroleague that resists. Something that would also make it possible to match the best historical mark as a visitor to the Taronja team in the highest continental competition.

The precedents at the Palau Blaugrana are negative for the Taronja team both in the Euroleague precedents (they have lost on their three visits) and in the Endesa League game this season (when they fell by 81-75 in the last moments), although the taronja team prevailed in the first leg game by 84-83.

Valencia Basket has moved to Barcelona with the twelve players available, including Bojan Dubljevic who has already started training normally after recovering from a sprained right knee. The main novelty for this game will be the absence of Xabi López-Arostegui, who will be out due to some discomfort in the plantar fascia of his left foot. Sam Van Rossom and Klemen Prepelic still sidelined.

Valencia Basket begins this round located in the 13th position of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with a balance of 15-18.
