Valencia Basket seeks its ticket for the Playoffs in La Fonteta vs. Río Breogán

23/05/2023

Valencia Basket men's team returns to action after a ten-day hiatus to close the Endesa League Regular Season hosting Río Breogán at La Fonteta (Wednesday 24, 8:30 p.m., Fonteta, Movistar Deportes 4) in a game that the taronja squad needs to win to guarantee its presence in the acb Playoffs for the 17th season in a row.

The Taronja team could access the post-season even with a defeat at La Fonteta, as long as UCAM Murcia did not win its game at Palau Blaugrana, which will be played at the same time in this unified schedule final round.

Captain Bojan Dubljevic can become the player with the second most games played with the taronja jersey, since against the sky-blue team he can reach the figure of 627 games and break the tie he currently maintains with Rafa Martínez in second historical position.

The precedents are favorable to the Valencian team, which has won 13 of the 16 visits to this draw, although on its last visit Río Breogán took the win from La Fonteta with an exhibition by Dzanan Musa.

Sam Van Rossom, Xabi López-Arostegui and Millán Jiménez still sidelined, but with the return of Guillem Ferrando to our men's team and point guard Jared Harper gradually joining the team's practices, coach Álex Mumbrú can have up to 14 professional players at his disposal, which would force him to make two technical discards for the first time in the season.

Valencia Basket begins this round located in the 8th position of the Endesa League with a record of 17-16.
