The game 2 of the First Round in the FIBA World Cup has left again two wins and two losses for the Valencia Basket players. Quino Colom improved the Spanish National Team game in his court minutes and the national team sealed his ticket to the Second Round with a win against Puerto Rico by 63-73. Labeyrie scored two baskets in the less than two minutes he was on the court before having to retire injured in France's 64-103 victory over Jordan.

The selections of Maurice Ndour and Bojan Dubljevic improved on the FR game 2, but fell again defeated. Senegal held the match against Australia until the third quarter, but ended up defeated by 81-68 and no longer has options to qualify for the Second Round. Montenegro soared to get over in the last quarter in their match against New Zealand, but ended up falling 83-93 despite Dubi's double figures (13 points and 12 rebounds). A defeat that together with the victory of Brazil leaves Montenegro without options to advance to the second phase.
