Valencia Basket fell
81-75 on their visit to Barça's pitch in a game that they dominated for many
minutes and in which they endured the increase in Barca intensity in the second
half to reach a tight finish that Abrines decided with a three-pointer and a recovery.
The Taronja team had two good sets in the first quarter that allowed them to
build an advantage that stretched to fifteen in the second and that they were
able to protect until the break. The Barça team dried up the Valencian offense
with an aggressive defense, found some success outside with Laprovittola and
Mirotic in the paint to minimize their disadvantage. The entrance of Evans and
the success of Webb contained the Barça rush in that third quarter and although
Barça finished the comeback at the beginning of the last quarter, the Valencian
team did not let go of the game to fight for the victory until the last
seconds.
