Accessibility Statement

Introduction

At Valencia Basket Club SAD, we are committed to universal digital accessibility and continuously work to ensure that our digital assets are usable by everyone, regardless of their abilities, age, or personal circumstances.

Our Accessibility Statement is based on the latest version of the harmonised European standard EN 301 549, the European standard for digital accessibility approved by the European Commission. This standard defines the accessibility requirements for technological products and services.

This statement applies to https://www.valenciabasket.com/, excluding embedded content from external domains. Nevertheless, Valencia Basket Club SAD and its external providers are actively committed to improving the accessibility of third-party content included within our Digital Asset in order to provide the most inclusive digital experience possible.

Our objective is to continuously monitor and address potential digital accessibility barriers in order to provide an inclusive, barrier-free experience for all users.

Beyond legal compliance, Valencia Basket Club SAD aims to exceed current digital accessibility requirements. Our commitment is to achieve the highest accessibility standards by meeting WCAG Level AAA criteria wherever possible, continuously improving the usability of our digital products, and obtaining certifications that demonstrate our commitment to accessibility excellence.

To achieve this ambitious objective, we have implemented a comprehensive Digital Accessibility Service (S.I.A.), introducing integrated corrective measures that include specialised staff training, continuous accessibility assessment and improvement systems, and proactive actions across both our websites and mobile applications, with the ultimate goal of providing a truly universal and inclusive digital experience.

Adopted Criteria

Valencia Basket Club SAD follows the EN 301 549 standard to ensure the digital accessibility of its Digital Assets. Some of the measures implemented to improve content accessibility include:

  • (7.1.4) Where ICT allows captions to be displayed, provide users with a way to adapt the visual presentation of captions to their individual requirements, except where captions are displayed as non-modifiable characters.
  • (7.1.5) We verify that captions in all videos are properly synchronised with the audio track.
  • (7.2.1) Use video players that allow users to select and play available audio descriptions.
  • (7.3) Use video players that provide subtitle and audio description controls with the same level of interaction as all other player controls.
  • (9.1.1.1) We are conducting a comprehensive review of all meaningful images to ensure that appropriate alternative text (alt text) is provided, making visual information accessible to users with visual impairments.
  • (9.1.2.3) We are assessing the implementation of audio descriptions or alternative media for all prerecorded video content to ensure visual information is available through alternative means.
  • (9.1.2.5) Alternative versions of videos with integrated audio descriptions are being prepared, or a secondary audio description track is being made available where possible.
  • (9.1.3.1) Structural elements such as headings, field groups, lists and tables are being audited to ensure that visual relationships are correctly reflected within the code.
  • (9.1.3.5) Appropriate autocomplete attributes are being added to forms to improve the user experience, particularly on mobile devices and within assisted access environments.
  • (9.1.4.1) Additional visual indicators such as underlining, icons or explanatory text are being incorporated to ensure that colour is never the sole means of conveying information.
  • (9.1.4.3) Both automated and manual testing tools are being used to verify that text and background colour contrast meets the required readability standards.
  • (9.1.4.4) We verify that content can be resized up to 200% using browser functions without loss of functionality or information.
  • (9.1.4.11) All graphical elements and non-text controls are reviewed to ensure sufficient contrast against their backgrounds.
  • (9.2.1.1) Our development team is adapting all interactive components to ensure full keyboard accessibility, allowing navigation without the use of a mouse.
  • (9.2.2.2) Automatically moving content is being audited to ensure that accessible and visible pause or stop mechanisms are available.
  • (9.2.4.1) Mechanisms allowing users to bypass repetitive content such as navigation menus are being implemented to facilitate direct access to the main content.
  • (9.2.4.3) Keyboard navigation order is being reviewed to ensure it remains logical, consistent and does not affect meaning or functionality.
  • (9.2.4.4) Link text is being improved so that each link is sufficiently descriptive and understandable without requiring additional context.
  • (9.2.4.7) All interactive elements are reviewed to ensure keyboard focus is always clearly visible through appropriate styling.
  • (9.3.1.2) lang attributes are being added to content written in languages other than the default language to ensure correct pronunciation by multilingual screen readers.
  • (9.3.3.3) Error messages are being improved by including clear and understandable suggestions to help users correct detected errors.
  • (9.4.1.2) We are improving the semantic accessibility of all custom components, ensuring that their role, state and value are correctly communicated to assistive technologies.
  • (9.4.1.3) ARIA roles and accessibility attributes are being correctly implemented so that dynamic messages (such as errors, confirmations or alerts) are detected and announced by screen readers.
  • (9.6) We ensure compliance with the five WCAG Level AA conformance principles so that pages, processes and technologies do not interfere with the overall accessibility of the content.
  • (10.1.3.1) Documents ensure that information, structure and relationships are programmatically determined or provided through text alternatives.
  • (10.1.4.1) Documents are reviewed to ensure that colour is not used as the sole visual means of conveying information, indicating actions, prompting responses or distinguishing visual elements.
  • (10.2.1.1) Documents are designed to ensure that interface elements correctly receive keyboard focus.
  • (10.2.4.4) The purpose of every document link can be determined from the link text itself or from its context.
  • (10.3.1.1) Documents specify the default language used.
  • (10.4.1.2) User interface components within documents, including form controls, hyperlinks and script-generated elements, follow the structure recommended by accessibility guidelines.
  • (12.1.2) Product documentation is available in fully accessible formats.
  • (12.2.4) Documentation supplied by support services is available in accessible formats.
