Double taronja medal in the World Cup: Colom, gold; Labeyrie, bronze
The fight for the FIBA World
Cup medals has been decided this morning in Beijing with double prominence for
Valencia Basket. Point-guard Quino Colom has been part of the Spanish team that
has been proclaimed World Champion beating Argentina in the final by 75-95 and
played the last 1:22 minutes of the gold medal game. The power forward Louis
Labeyrie has hung the bronze medal of this World Cup after France has been
imposed on Australia by 67-59. The taronja frontcourt player has participated
12 minutes in the bronze medal game, scoring 2 points (a spectacular dunk in
his only shot attempted) and capturing 6 rebounds to add 8 index.
