Brancou Badio will remain our ‘Papi’ through 2029
Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with Senegalese international shooting guard Brancou Badio (1.91m, Rufisque, 17/02/1999, 27 years old) to extend the contract that ties him to the orange club. Following this renewal, his deal will now run until the end of the 2028–29 season.
In his first full season in the EuroLeague, the Valencia guard has become one of the team’s main offensive leaders, averaging 10.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists for a performance rating of 8.6. In addition to his constant contribution of energy, intensity, and defense—which is not reflected in traditional statistics but has been crucial—Valencia Basket has qualified for the playoff stage of Europe’s top continental competition as a seeded team for the first time in its history. He recently set a new personal best in the EuroLeague with 20 points and a 22 performance rating in the win over EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.
Overall this season, including his participation in the Liga Endesa and an outstanding performance in the Copa del Rey, Brancou has played a total of 60 games so far, posting numbers very similar to his European campaign: 10.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2 assists for an 8.6 rating.
Badio arrived in Valencia in the summer of 2024 from Baxi Manresa, a team where he had already played under Pedro Martínez for three seasons. In the closing stretch of his second season in orange, he has already accumulated 122 appearances defending our colors and is close to breaking into the club’s all-time Top 40 scorers.
