Clash at the top of the Liga Endesa at the Roig Arena with the visit of Real Madrid
Liga Endesa round 28
Miguel Ángel Polo
Valencia Basket men's team will once again count on the support of its home crowd after three consecutive away games, in a clash between the first- and second-placed teams in the Liga Endesa, as they host Real Madrid (Saturday 25, 21:00, Roig Arena, DAZN/Movistar+ Plus) in a game corresponding to Round 28 of the ACB.
The taronja side will put both their strong run of results and their status as the best home team in the competition on the line against an opponent that is the best away team in the league—unbeaten on the road in this competition since October 12 and currently on a 13-game winning streak away from home in the ACB. All of this comes just before both teams begin their participation in the EuroLeague Playoffs next week.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two sides this season. Valencia Basket won the first two encounters (the Supercopa Endesa final and the EuroLeague game at Roig Arena), while the Madrid side has taken the last three matchups (the Liga Endesa game in Madrid, the Copa del Rey semifinal, and the EuroLeague game in Madrid).
The overall head-to-head record favors the Madrid team at 20–26, although Valencia Basket has won the last two Regular Season ACB home games against Real Madrid.
In addition to the absence of Xabi López-Arostegui, the taronja side will also be without Jaime Pradilla (out since last week with a leg muscle injury) and Omari Moore (due to a heavy blow to the shoulder).
Valencia Basket enters this round in second place in the Liga Endesa standings with a 21–6 record.
