WOMEN'S TEAM

Spanish coach Javier Torralba was introduced today as the new head coach of the Valencia Basket women’s team for the next three seasons, through the 28/29 season, at a ceremony held on the auxiliary court at the Roig Arena and sponsored by Vitaldin, which is also extending its partnership with the club through the 28/29 season.

The Spanish coach comes from Segle XXI, where, since 2018, he has been in charge of one of the best “feeder programs” for national players in all of Europe; since 2020, he has also served as head coach of the team in Liga Femenina 2. Players he has coached—such as Helena Pueyo and Elena Buenavida—will now be under his guidance at Valencia Basket.

In his first remarks, Javier Torralba stated, “I feel a great sense of respect and a heavy sense of responsibility. We’ve had some fantastic years, not just because of the titles, but because of how the project has grown since it began, and that’s a huge challenge for me. I think I’m ready; I’m incredibly excited, and all I need is for it to start right away, because I can’t wait to be out here on this court—that’s where I really feel at home.”
