Valencia Basket bids farewell to La Fonteta with a legendary tribute

Fonteta Tribute

On June 29th, the Fuente de San Luis Arena will witness a day to remember. Valencia Basket is organizing a game that will serve as a farewell to 38 years of unforgettable "taronja" nights, top-level basketball, countless anecdotes, and many stories that hold a special place in the hearts of the fans. At 5:00 PM, the doors of the arena will open once again, but this won’t be an ordinary game. It will be a tribute to the history and every step the Club has taken since it arrived at the iconic venue.

That day, the benches will be filled with names who have personally experienced many of those memorable moments. Fabricio Oberto, Romain Sato, Bernard Hopkins, and Anna Gómez, among others, will be some of the key figures of this special event, which will bring together many players from different eras with a clear objective: to bid a grand farewell to the pavilion while continuing to raise awareness and remember a tragedy that inevitably marked this past season — the DANA. All proceeds from ticket sales for the game will be donated to those affected by the disaster through the Felisa Foundation, with the support of the Cancha Solidaria Endesa project, which will help increase the amount donated.

On the other side of the court, more legends will take the stage. José Manuel Calderón, Sergio “El Chacho” Rodríguez, Carlos Jiménez, and Marina Ferragut are just some of the notable names on a roster also filled with legends — in this case, on a national level.
