Prestigious victory in Tenerife to secure third place and look further ahead (99-102)

ValenciaBasket secured at least third place in the Regular Season of the Endesa Leagueand remains in the fight for second place after winning a thrilling game on theLa Laguna Tenerife court by 99-102. Valencia Basket dominated with significantmargins from outside shooting for most of the time, and in which they had tohold off the home team's late comeback. The orange team took control early witha 0-14 run, and although the black and gold team fought back to tie the scoreon a couple of occasions, the orange team made three consecutive three-pointers(they went 12/17 in the first two quarters) to extend their lead again and takethe lead into the break. The orange team was able to keep up with the Lagunateam's offensive momentum in the third quarter, even increasing their lead andholding on until the final five minutes, although the home team pressed thedefensive line and took advantage of their scoring difficulties to fall tenbehind in the final three minutes. The black and gold team, spurred on by theirfans, got within three with the final three-pointer, but Valencia Basket knewhow to play the final moments with patience to secure a high-quality victory.
