Season 2025-26 raises the curtain with the Supercopa Endesa semifinal vs. Unicaja
2025 Endesa Supercup

Valencia Basket men’s team opens the 2025-26 season by taking part for the seventh time in its history in the Supercopa Endesa, facing host team Unicaja in the first semifinal of the tournament (Saturday, 27, 6:00 p.m., Martín Carpena, DAZN). The game will be available to watch for free by registering on the DAZN website or app. The winner of this clash will face the victor of the other semifinal, between Real Madrid and La Laguna Tenerife, in the final to be played on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
The “taronja” team has thirteen players available for this competition, thanks to the inclusion of Hungarian Vincent Valerio-Bodon, who had been helping during preseason, due to four injury absences: Xabi López-Arostegui, Jean Montero, Brancou Badio, and Yankuba Sima.
Muscle discomfort will prevent the Spanish international center from returning to Carpena. However, forward Kameron Taylor could feature if he is chosen as one of the two non-EU players eligible for the roster. This will be the second time these two teams face each other in the Supercopa Endesa, with Valencia winning their only previous meeting, 83-78, in the 2017 semifinals, which was the first step toward their sole title in this competition.
Unicaja enters this game as the reigning Supercopa Endesa and Copa del Rey champion, having also added the Intercontinental Cup to its trophy cabinet just a week ago. That makes them the only team in this tournament to have already played official games this season. The green squad saw several key players leave for EuroLeague teams over the summer, but has reinforced well with additions such as former Valencia player James Webb III, Chris Duarte, Xavier Castañeda, and Emir Sulejmanovic.
