The second victory in the Endesa League comes at Río Breogán (90-113)
J2 Liga Endesa
Valencia Basket had to recover from Río Breogán's strong start and find great accuracy from outside shooting to claim its second victory in the Endesa League, 90-113 in a game that didn't break until the end against a combative Galician team. The orange team started trailing a sky-blue team that came out intensely in the first game in front of its home crowd, converting five of its first six three-point attempts in the first three minutes. The orange team managed to contain the home team's energy somewhat but not their three-point accuracy, which led to them being down fifteen points with six minutes left before halftime. Four consecutive three-pointers allowed Valencia Basket to get back into the game and open a 4-28 run, with Thompson and Moore playing a leading role, turning the score around and allowing them to take a lead at halftime. The orange team was able to contain the Lugo team's outside shooting in the third quarter with points from Pradilla and De Larrea, and only managed to kill the game off in the final quarter with Brancou Badio's offensive prominence.
Quotes Pedro Martínez post-J2 Liga Endesa in Río Breogán
“We started a game like this. They started off brilliantly, scoring three-pointerson almost every attack, playing very well. They didn't score by chance, theytook very good shots, and we were coming in a bit late. This gave them a hugeadvantage. In the second quarter, we played with great pace and were veryaccurate in the first seconds of possession, shooting accurately. This gave usconfidence and allowed us to change our mood. In the second half, we controlledthe situation, withstanding their attacks, they fought and had spirit, and werespected them well, not letting them get too close. In the last five, itfinally broke down.”
