Valencia Basket opens its fourth Liga Endesa Finals series vs. Barça at the Roig Arena

Liga Endesa Finals

Valencia Basket men’s team begins its fourth appearance in the Liga Endesa Finals Playoffs, approaching the series for the first time with home-court advantage. The opening game of a highly demanding final against Barça will take place on Thursday, June 18 at 20:00 at the Roig Arena (DAZN / Movistar Plus+ / Orange / Vodafone TV), with the support of a sold-out crowd expected to fill the new orange venue.

In this game, our team has the opportunity to continue rewriting its playoff history after reaching the final round with a perfect record for the second consecutive year, having eliminated Surne Bilbao Basket in the quarterfinals and Asisa Joventut in the semifinals.

The seventh championship-series meeting between Valencia Basket and Barça will bring a rematch of the club’s first-ever final in 2003, when Valencia Basket was unable to secure a single victory. Recent history is evenly balanced, both in domestic competition games played in our city—where each team has won three of the last six meetings—and in this season’s matchups, with Valencia Basket winning both Liga Endesa games while Barça claimed both EuroLeague encounters.

In a series featuring the two best teams in the Liga Endesa in offensive efficiency, net rating, and rebounding control, Valencia Basket will need to produce its most solid performance to disrupt a Barça offense that has been the most efficient in the competition over the last three months.

The Valencian side has recently been without Xabi López-Arostegui, Nate Reuvers, and Josep Puerto due to injury. However, the Valencia captain has just partially returned to training after spending just under a month and a half on the sidelines.
