Valencia Basket opens the Copa del Rey 2026 at Roig Arena vs. Asisa Joventut
Copa del Rey 2026
Valencia Basket
Valencia Basket men’s team faces its third Copa del Rey as host, opening the tournament with the first quarterfinal matchup against Asisa Joventut (Thursday 19, 18:00, Roig Arena, DAZN) less than two weeks after their Liga Endesa clash in Badalona, which ended in a green and black win.
The taronja side will play its 14th Copa del Rey in a row with the support of more than 2,650 of its fans in the stands of a Roig Arena that is making its debut as a venue for major ACB tournaments, doing so with the intention of turning positive a quarterfinal record that is currently tied (on 13 occasions it has advanced to the semifinals and on another 13 it has been eliminated in the first game).
It won’t be easy against an opponent they will face for the third time in this tournament, with a taronja win in the 1998 final and a Catalan victory in the 2008 quarterfinals, but one they defeated in this same venue in the first half of the Liga Endesa season by 102–90.
Coach Pedro Martínez has his full roster available for this tournament, with Brancou Badio and Xabi López-Arostegui returning compared with the meeting two weeks ago in Badalona.
