Jerusalem, tough first option to get the ticket to the 7DAYS EuroCup finals
Valencia Basket has their first opportunity tomorrow in Jerusalem to get into the big 7DAYS EuroCup final with the 7DAYS EuroCup semifinals game 2 vs. Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (Friday 17, 13:00h, Pais Arena, Teledeporte / Eurosport2 / Euroleague TV) after getting the win in the game 1 played on Tuesday in Spain by a score of 83-68. In this format with the best of three matches, extend the good streak in Israel (Valencia Basket has not lost in any of his three visits to Jerusalem so far) will guarantee the team taronja his presence in their seventh final. The Taronja squad traveled to Israel this morning with only nine professional players to face this match, due to injury absences, all on the left foot, of Guillem Vives, Antoine Diot and Slava Kravtsov. Romain Sato, with a nasal fracture, has finally been able to travel with his teammates and will be able to help the team using a personalized protective mask.
Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem will try to assert the strength of a Pais Arena in which this season has only lost against Valencia Basket in European competition (84-86 in the Regular Season) to extend this series of semifinals and return to the Fonteta next Wednesday. Tarence Kinsey joined the two most valued players in the 7DAYS EuroCup (Curtis Jerrells with 16.9 credits and Amar'e Stoudemire with 15.2 credits) to be the most oustanding players in the game 1, but not was enough to get the triumph of the Fonteta. In this second chapter, they have the support of a gym that has touched the 9,000 spectators in the last European commitments, in which they increase their offensive performance and in which they present a balance of 7-1 in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
Pedro Martinez: "A good mental response is key"
Valencia Basket coach Pedro Martínez said in reference to this second game that "sure is going to be a hard game again, we will have the same injuries we had in the first game. But as always, we have to find in the team the answer to the injuries. I expect a game in which the mental aspects will be key: being prepared to suffer, being able to not decentrate when you are some points up and they recover or down. We need to have a good response to all the things that the game may have in a hostile environment, on a very hot court. These is very motivating to play, but logically is very positive for the local team"
