Key duel in the fight for the fourth spot in the Fonteta vs. Unicaja
Valencia Basket repeats in the Fonteta to play the postponed Endesa League round 27 game that will face Unicaja (Wednesday 24, 20:30h, Fonteta, #Vamos) in a direct duel to get the home-court advantage at the end of the Regular League. The taronja team comes to this game in the fourth position and with a game advantage over the Malaga team, so a win would allow the taronja squad to put two games away with the fifth position.
On a night when the fourth title of the 7DAYS EuroCup will rise to the roof of the Fonteta to stay there forever, coach Jaume Ponsarnau recovers Guillem Vives and captain Rafa Martínez, so he will have to make a technical discard in addition to the already known by Sergi García.
The inducements will not be lacking in a duel of sport rivalry that with the one of tomorrow will have been played 20 times in the last four seasons, although the taronja squad has prevailed in eight of the last nine visits of the Unicaja. Three of the seven most valued players of the Endesa League meet on the floor of La Fonteta and face each other two of the teams that throw more and better from behind the three-point line.
Jaume Ponsarnau
"We play against one of the best teams in the league and it will require us to be very good in the control of these advantages, in the physical game and in factors such as rebound or turnovers in which there is going to be an important competition for take the game. For me the most important thing is to reach the Playoff with the best conditions, with the best fitness and the best feelings. But we came from winning a competition and we showed our pride in having achieved the home-court advantage and it helped us a lot. Now it is not decisive but for the ambition that we want to show at this moment, what is more decisive is to get the home-court advantage".
