Key duel to recover positions in the Endesa League on the court of Joventut Badalona
After ending its bad dynamics with a win at La Fonteta against Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Valencia Basket men's team will now try to straighten the course in the Endesa League in a key game for their aspirations to continue climbing positions in the national competition on the Joventut Badalona’s court (Sunday 9, 6:30 p.m., Olímpic Badalona, #Vamos) in a round 26 acb game.
The Taronja team visits the rival that is ranked immediately ahead looking for a win that would allow them to reduce the distance to seventh position to two games (with one more game played by the black-and-green team) and with the particular basket-average won with the Badaloneses.
However, a defeat at the Olímpic would widen the gap with the rest of the playoff teams and would complicate the options of continuing to climb positions in the Endesa League.
It will not be an easy task to get the win from a court in which the black-and-green team has won 83% of their games this season and in which only two teams have been able to leave with the victory in the acb. And in which Valencia Basket has a negative balance both in history and in its recent streak (it has lost in four of its last five visits to this gym).
Captain Bojan Dubljevic, who has missed the last three games for the Taronja team due to a sprained right knee, will be part of the expedition to Badalona, although his participation is questionable and will be game-time decision.
Sam Van Rossom and Klemen Prepelic are sidelined for this game, while Millán Jiménez has just started training after recovering from his ankle operation and will begin to pick up a competitive rhythm this weekend with the LEB Plata second team. In addition, one of the three non-EU players (Harper is the one discarded at this time) will not be able to be registered for this game.
Valencia Basket begins this day located in the 8th position of the Endesa League with a record of 13-12.
