The #CalderaTaronja decides the ticket for the 7DAYS EuroCup finals
Valencia Basket returns to #CalderaTaronja to play in the 7DAYS EuroCup semifinals game 3 vs. Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem that will decide which of the two teams will get the ticket for the finals (Wednesday 22, 20: 30h, Fonteta, Teledeporte / Eurosport2 / Euroleague TV). The Israeli squad was the last to win at Fonteta in any competition, more than five months ago (they did it on October 19th by score of 77-81), a lapse of time in which the team taronja has managed to chain 19 wins in a row in front of their fans. The Taronja team comes from achieving an important win at Iberostar Tenerife’s court and will try to assert the Fonteta's winning character in decisive matches in European competitions to qualify for the seventh final of a continental tournament, the fifth in the EuroCup. The Taronja team keeps their infirmary full with the absences of Antoine Diot and Slava Kravtsov and with a Guillem Vives out of the dynamics of the team with a sprained left ankle.
Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem forced this third game of this playoff after saving the match-ball of last Friday with a win in Israel by 79-66 and this weekend beat Ironi Nahariya in the Winner League by 91-80. In that game, coach Simone Pianigiani gave rest to some relevant players like Amar'e Stoudemire or Tarence Kinsey. And Travis Peterson get a strong blow in the right shoulder that finally stayed in an acromioclavicular sprain and that makes him to be questionable for tomorrow's game. The Israeli team will try to qualify for their second final of this competition, something that has not done since taking the title in 2004.
Pedro Martínez: “We trust in our work and in the Fonteta”
Valencia Basket coach, Pedro Martínez, said in the previous press conference that "what makes the difference is the talent of players over technical and tactical aspects. We have players capable of taking initiatives and they too, and this can be a decisive factor. Our fans were important against Khimki, also in Jerusalem for them, and if this was not a home game, I would be more pessimistic. We know we have our fans, we trust in the Fonteta. The key word is trust, in ourselves, in overcome the bad moments that will be, trust that the work we do, which we have been doing for many months, will give us results. And that respect Hapoel Jerusalem, it is illogical not to think that they have options. We believe that if we do things well, with respect and knowing that they also have options, we have win the possibility of playing the European final"
