Valencia Basket adapts to win at UCAM Murcia's court (88-96)
Valencia Basket concluded its first week of three games with a hard-fought win at UCAM Murcia’s court by 88-96 in a game where the taronja squad were always ahead. However, they had to contain the reactions of the home team, which came within two points on a couple of occasions. The Valencia team started by effectively attacking the defense set up by the home team, which stayed close on the scoreboard with second-chance points and paint points in the first quarter. In the second quarter, UCAM Murcia’s defensive intensity on the ball and their accuracy in two-point shots kept the Valencia lead from growing, despite the twelve three-pointers made by the visiting team in the first half. After half-time, our team adapted to the change in the home team's defensive strategy that made them uncomfortable and stayed ahead thanks to the individual quality of their players. A 1-10 run in the final quarter, with Jovic, Montero and Puerto as key players, allowed Valencia Basket to complete a perfect week.
