Valencia Basket closes its week on tour on the Monbus Obradoiro’s court
Valencia Basket closes its tour of three away games in a row visiting the court of Monbus Obradoiro (Sunday 14, 17:00 hours, Fontes do Sar, Movistar Deportes 1) in a meeting in which the taronja team will try to close their week as visitor with a third win after winning in Murcia and Ankara. In a game in which Bojan Dubljevic can match Brad Branson as the foreign player with most ACB games with Valencia Basket, shooting guard Matt Thomas will return to the court where he played his first season as a prol and in which he recently proclaimed winner of the Endesa League 3-point contest. To try to get the win, the taronja squad recovers the participation of Mike Tobey, restored in a record time of his right shoulder and who played in Turkey, but loses Joan Sastre for a lower back pain injury. Forward Alberto Abalde (discomfort psoas right leg), Louis Labeyrie (adductor left leg) and Fernando San Emeterio have traveled with the team but they are questionable until the last minute. San Emeterio already started working with the group and could debut this season if the discomfort in the left knee allow him to do it. In addition to Sastre, Rafa Martínez and Antoine Diot still off for this game. Valencia Basket currently occupies the 14th position with a balance of 1-2.
Coach Ponsarnau quotes
Valencia Basket coach Jaume Ponsarnau said in the previous press conference that the team reaches the third consecutive away game "a bit tired for so much travel and want to play always with the maximum demand and not with all the health of the world. But we are convinced and responsible that this game is coming, that the competition has taken place as well and the adversities have also occurred and the team is super committed. We know that Monbus Obradoiro is a very difficult opponent, and on their court, so we are all very aware of the demand of the match. We play against the most tactically gifted team in the Endesa League, and endowed with very good judgment. We must be ready for a very tough game, in which it is very important to understand the game the 40 minutes”
