Valencia Basket makes up its postponed game against Casademont Zaragoza
Valencia Basket men’s team will make up their postponed game from Round 7 of the Liga Endesa against Casademont Zaragoza (Friday 15th, 20:45h, Fonteta, #Vamos), which was initially delayed due to the consequences of the DANA storm. This will be the first national competition game after the tragedy, still marked by the remembrance of the victims and those affected, using the social platform that elite sports provide to ensure that the ongoing efforts in the affected areas are not forgotten. To continue raising awareness about the need to keep making progress toward recovery, a new initiative will be highlighted within the "15 games, 15 initiatives" campaign, which showcases specific actions to help those who continue to suffer the aftermath of the tragedy in their daily lives.
Valencia Basket will try to extend its good run of results in an extremely emotional match that will be marked by the potential return of Bojan Dubljevic to the Fonteta after his departure from the club in the summer of 2023. The Montenegrin center arrives as the highest-rated player in the Liga Endesa and leads the best scorer team in the competition.
In a clash between the two teams that score the most three-pointers in the ACB, the "taronja" team will aim to maintain its strengths in rebounding and ball control to extend their impressive home record against this opponent, having not lost at home to them since 2015 and winning ten consecutive games at the Fonteta. However, they were defeated less than two months ago in a preseason game by 89-86, with a strong second-half comeback by the Aragonese team.
Valencia Basket will have the same injury absences as in recent games, with Filipovic (back) and Happ (foot and right foot adductor) sidelined for this game. Point guard Chris Jones continues his gradual return to full fitness, having played twelve minutes in Tuesday's win. Valencia Basket ends this seventh round in fourth place, with a 4-1 record and a pending game against La Laguna Tenerife at the Fonteta.
