Valencia Basket opens its first Euroleague tour visiting Olympiacos Piraeus’ court
Valencia Basket opens its first tour of two consecutive continental away games visiting the Olympiacos Piraeus court (Wednesday 16, 20:30, SEF, DAZN) in a game on round 14 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague that involves a direct duel between two teams that are involved in the fight to stay within the Top-8 zone.
In this way, the taronja team will face their first game in a series of three games in five days that will later take them to visit the Crvena Zvevda mts Belgrade court and finish the week at the Fonteta on Sunday vs. UCAM Murcia. The men of Jaume Ponsarnau will try to extend their good moment away from home (with four consecutive victories as visitors) although it is not the rival and the most favorable scenario if we look at the precedents.
Valencia Basket has not beaten Olympiacos Piraeus for more than 17 years, it has never won in the Peace and Friendship and has had nine defeats against the red and white, as well as a recent record of seven defeats in its last seven visits to Greece .
To rewrite its history in the Hellenic country, the Taronja team recovers the participation of power forward Louis Labeyrie, although Joan Sastre and Vanja Marinkovic remain sidelined. The Valencian team begins this round 14 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in the fifth position of the tournament with an 8-5 in the standings.
