Valencia Basket returns to the Endesa League visiting ICL Manresa’s court

Valencia Basket returns to play an Endesa League game after two weeks of absence in the national competition due to their participation in the EuroCup Finals. And it does so to visit the ICL Manresa’s court (Sunday 9, 19: 00h, Nou Congost, Movistar Deportes 1) that despite occupying the last position in the Endesa League has left clear signs of its improvement with victories like the one obtained against Baskonia at the Nou Congost three weeks ago. Coach Pedro Martinez will count for the first time since the Copa del Rey finals with a full squad of twelve professional players available with the recovery of the French point guard Antoine Diot and the possible debut of the American center Mike Tobey.

 

A Taronja win would put a 600 in the Spanish league's winning counter of Valencia Basket. And that victory united to other results of some Saturday games, could certify in a mathematical way the presence in the Endesa League playoffs by eleventh consecutive season. Valencia Basket currently occupies second place in the League Endesa with a balance of 18 wins and 6 losses.

 

Pedro Martínez: “We must be ready, will be hard)

Valencia Basket coach Pedro Martinez said in the week 28 Endesa League game previous press conference  that "obviously we are still not recovered because the hit was hard, but we are in the normal process. Do not expect to be happy or have forgotten the game, which does not mean that you spend your time, mentality and energy in thinking about the next game. It is compatible to be sad, sore and thinking about doing things right in the next game in the Endesa League"

 

About the opponent on Sunday, ICL Manresa, the Taronja coach emphasizes that "they are a team which recently beat Baskonia at home. I know they are going badly in the standings, but it's a team that has had a lot of injury problems that they do not have now. It is a well-trained team that at home does things very aggressively. I do not think only our mental state matters, maybe we want to win and we can not”.
