Valencia Basket seeks its sixth Copa del Rey final vs. Real Madrid
Valencia Basket men’s team returns to the semifinals of the Copa del Rey after three editions of absence in the same scenario and against the same rival as in its last presence in the second round of this competition to face Real Madrid (Saturday 17 , 6:00 p.m., Martín Carpena, Movistar+ Deportes).
The Taronja squad will try to find a ticket to its sixth final against a rival that it has never been able to beat in this tournament since the previous five clashes in the Cup have fallen on the white side.
Although they are on a negative streak against this opponent, against whom Valencia Basket have had eight defeats and whom they have not defeated for more than two years, the three games of this season have been close games and a little over a month ago, Valencia Basket only fell in overtime at the Wizink Center in a Euroleague match.
Center Boubacar Touré remains the only confirmed sidelined player waiting to see how Brandon Davies' knee and Xabi López-Arostegui's ankle respond after the important effort necessary to knock down Dreamland Gran Canaria in the quarterfinals by 81-89.
The physical condition of the squad will be a decisive element for coach Álex Mumbrú when choosing the three players he leaves out of Saturday's game, one of them necessarily one of the three overseas players.
