Valencia Basket seeks the ticket for the Copa del Rey in La Fonteta vs. Covirán Granada

Valencia Basket men's team closes its particular Taronja Christmas with its fourth home-game in a row, the fifth game in nine days, to host Covirán Granada (Saturday 23, 6:00 p.m., Fonteta, Movistar Deportes 2) in a Endesa League round 15 game.

 

The Taronja squad will face a rival that is one of the best offensive teams in the ACB and its ability to recover from the fatigue accumulated after a very tough Euroleague double round week in a match in which Valencia Basket could seal its presence in the Copa del Rey Málaga 2024.

 

Álex Mumbrú's men would ensure their twelfth consecutive presence in the KO tournament if they win this game. A win that would also represent an important step in the fight for seeding status with two more games on the horizon for the end of the first leg. Valencia Basket could seal its ticket to the Cup even by losing, but it would depend on the results of other courts for this.

 

There is only one precedent of a confrontation against this rival in La Fonteta (taronja win by 80-72 last season) and although the record is positive against rivals from the city of Granada in La Fonteta (14-1), Valencia Basket lost in its last game of the preseason against this opponent in Llíria by 66-75.

 

The absences due to muscle injuries of Víctor Claver, Semi Ojeleye and Jared Harper remain.

 

Valencia Basket begins this day in third position in the acb with a balance of 10-4.
