Valencia Basket seeks the ticket for the Cup on its return to the Cafés Candelas Breogán’s court

Valencia Basket closes the first leg of the Endesa League returning to Lugo almost thirteen years later to visit the Cafés Candelas Breogán’s court (Sunday 20, 17:00h, Pazo dos Deportes, Movistar Deportes 1) in a game in which the taronja squad can certify his presence in the Copa del Rey Madrid 2019. If he breaks his five-game losing streak in the Pazo and takes the win, Valencia Basket would automatically be in the draw of the King’s Cup on Monday. Winning has even options to reach fourth place and be seeded, but it depends on a series of relatively complicated conditions that should occur jointly.

 

Valencia Basket can qualify for the Cup even losing. In fact, the only combination that leaves the taronja squad out of the King’s Cup is to lose in Lugo, that Baxi Manresa and Divina Seguros Joventut both win and the two Catalan teams recover the overall average basket (currently the standings are +31 for the taronja squad, + 14 for the Baxi Manresa and -16 for the black and green).

 

Coach Jaume Ponsarnau will have for this game the absences of Rafa Martínez (infectious process of upper respiratory tract with fever) and Fernando San Emeterio (who continues with the recovery of his hamstring injury). The 12 available players have traveled this morning to Lugo and will conduct two practice sessions in Galician lands before the game. Valencia Basket currently occupies the sixth position of the Endesa League, with a balance of 10 wins and 6 losses.
