Valencia Basket seeks the triumph in Malaga to return the series to the Fonteta
Valencia Basket travelled this morning towards Málaga with one goal: to improve to seek the win in the Endesa League Quarterfinals game 2 vs. Unicaja (Sunday 2, 16: 30h, Martín Carpena, #Vamos) and return the series to the Fonteta to play the game 3 on Tuesday 4. The taronja team lost the home-court advantage after falling yesterday in the first game of the series by 78-85 and now is bound to win on a complicated court (although he has won in six of his last eleven visits to Carpena) so that his 2018-19 season does not end tomorrow.
In addition to knocking down a Unicaja in good dynamics and with high after Friday's triumph, Valencia Basket will also fight against its own history, since until now it has never lifted a series in which it started with 0-1 and in only an occasion (in the 2016-17 Endesa League Finals that supposed the title) has finished overcoming a Playoff in which it began losing the game 1.
The first step to be able to rewrite the taronja history in the ACB Playoffs necessarily involves come back with the triumph from Málaga and not repeating the series of the 2009-10 season, when after losing the first home game against the green team, Unicaja closed the series in the second commitment. Shooting guard Matt Thomas is sidelined for all this Playoff, recovering from the surgery he needed in the right thigh.
