Liga Endesa round 31

Valencia Basket bounced back from a poor first half in three-point shooting with a strong defensive second half to turn the game around in the third quarter and complete the celebration on Sam Van Rossom’s tribute night with a win over Dreamland Gran Canaria by 86-79. Brancou Badio and Jean Montero led the offensive charge.

The taronja team trailed from the start as the visitors came out strong with sharp three-point shooting. Although Valencia managed to reduce Gran Canaria’s early efficiency, their own outside shooting was woeful in the first half (just 2-for-21 from beyond the arc). They were only able to prevent a larger deficit thanks to Montero’s points and success on second-chance opportunities.

Brancou Badio changed the course of the game by fully leveraging his athleticism to ignite Valencia’s offense and spark a 22-4 run. Dreamland Gran Canaria managed to recover and evened the score heading into the final five minutes. Then Jones stepped up with seven straight points, and as the yellow team closed the gap again, Badio rose to the occasion once more, helping Valencia pull away in the closing moments to secure their 22nd win in the Liga Endesa.
