Final Playoff pre-game quotes: Josep Puerto

Valencia Basket captain Josep Puerto spoke ahead of the Playoff Final, in which the "taronja" team will face Real Madrid, stating:

"We're going to play against a very good team — they are the favorites, they have a powerful roster. But that doesn’t mean we’re not going to compete, that we’re not going to fight. I believe we can make it difficult for them."

The taronja forward also wanted to "make a call to the fans, not only because these will be the last games at La Fonteta, but also because you don’t get to play in finals very often. So I’d like to tell them that we’re going to give it our all. And above all, that they enjoy it, because as I said before, finals don’t happen every day. Playing a Liga Endesa final is something very difficult. I think it’s a perfect scenario for all the people who support the club to be able to experience the last games at La Fonteta while playing a final against Madrid. So from that perspective, I hope they enjoy it."

Puerto emphasized the need to stick to the style that has brought Valencia Basket to the final series:
"Even if it may sound a bit utopian, in the end it’s just another game. Of course, when it comes to details, there’s a bit more preparation than for a regular match. But in the end, the actions are the same, there’s nothing new. It’s basketball, and I think that’s the best way to approach it."
