Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with American center holding a Hungarian passport Nate Reuvers (2.11m, Lakeville, Minnesota, USA, 09/30/1998, 27 years old) to extend the contract that ties him to the club for two more seasons. As a result, Reuvers’ stay with the club will run at least until the end of the 2027–28 season.
In his third season with Valencia Basket, Reuvers continues the upward trajectory that has defined him since his arrival, becoming the highest-rated interior player on the team in the EuroLeague so far this season, averaging 10.6 efficiency rating points per game in Europe’s top competition. His 10.5 points per game in the EuroLeague come with 70.4% shooting on two-pointers (the sixth best among big men attempting more than three two-point shots per game) and 43% from three-point range, the best percentage on the team and one of the top marks for a center in the entire EuroLeague. To these offensive numbers, he adds 3.2 rebounds, 0.7 blocks, and 2.4 fouls drawn. In the Liga Endesa, he averages 9.2 points with 40.3% from three-point range and 2.9 rebounds for an efficiency rating of 8.9.
Steady growth in orange
Nate Reuvers joined Valencia Basket in the summer of 2023 from Reggio Emilia after developing at the University of Wisconsin (where he still holds the record as the program’s all-time leading shot blocker), and after previous experience in Croatia and Italy before arriving in our city. Since then, he has steadily increased his contribution, becoming an indispensable part of the team’s rotation.
After an initial season adapting to the Liga Endesa and making his EuroLeague debut, he obtained Hungarian nationality in the summer of 2024 and debuted with the Hungarian national team in November of that year.
With Pedro Martínez now on the bench, Nate significantly raised his level last season, and in the current campaign he is delivering his best performances yet in orange. So far this season, he is averaging 9.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks for a 9.9 efficiency rating, having not missed a single one of the 57 games played in the 2025–26 season.
Gradually entering club history
This durability has allowed Reuvers to play 162 games for Valencia Basket to date, making him already the sixth American-born player with the most appearances for the club. During this time, he has already left his mark on the club’s history, especially as a shot blocker: he is the team’s all-time leader in EuroLeague blocks (34), second-best in European competitions (54, 18 behind Lishchuk), and tenth in the club’s all-time rankings (101).
