The 2026–27 season starts with the Supercopa Endesa semifinal vs. Barça

Valencia Basket men’s team opens the 2026–27 season by taking part for the eighth time in its history in the Supercopa Endesa, as the reigning Liga Endesa champion and defending the title won last season in Málaga. The taronja side will face Barça in the second semifinal (Saturday 19, 9:00 p.m., Olímpic Badalona, DAZN), a rematch of the last official game of the previous season, the Liga Endesa Finals matchup between the two teams less than three months ago. Both rosters have changed significantly: the head coaches are different and only up to eleven players from last year’s ACB Finals rosters could be available for this game.

In the Supercopa Endesa, Barça is Valencia Basket’s most frequent opponent, and the precedents clearly favor the blaugrana team, which has won all four previous meetings in the competition. The winner of this game will face the winner of the other semifinal — between hosts Asisa Joventut and Kosner Baskonia — in Sunday’s final at 7:00 p.m.

Valencia Basket will have fifteen players available for the tournament, with Neal Sako ruled out due to injury and doubts surrounding the participation of Jasiel Rivero and Nikola Mirotic — the Cuban forward due to a minor muscle issue and the latter player to arrive because of his physical condition after only recently joining the team’s practices.
