Valencia Basket adds a new experience at the Phygital Games of the Future Astana 2026

Valencia Basket 3x3 has added a new chapter to its journey within the new global basketball ecosystem by participating for the first time in the Phygital Games of the Future—the world's largest "phygital" event—held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Taronja team qualified for the tournament thanks to their victory at the Phygital Games Spain and their subsequent top-four finish at the Phygital Contenders Astana 2026.

The Taronja squad—comprising Marcos Reos, Lu Lu Zijie, and Mohamed Hamed—opened their campaign with a 32–26 victory over Boca Juniors. In their second match, a 32–38 loss to a formidable Wilders team forced them into the Round of 16 against the hosts, PBC Astana; in a tight contest, the home teamemerged victorious with a score of 34–31.

The Phygital Games of the Future represent a new approach to sport, merging digital and physical competition into a single format. In phygital basketball,teams first compete in a video game match and then carry the result over to the3x3 court, where the winner of the overall matchup is decided.
