Valencia Basket expresses its condolences on the passing of Brad Branson

Valencia Basket wishes to express its deepest condolences on the passing of Brad Branson, a player who defended the colors of our Club between 1988 and 1994 and who passed away yesterday at the age of 67.
Brad Branson joined our team in 1988 to strengthen the Club’s first acb project after promotion the previous season, and he became a key figure in consolidating our Club during its early steps in the elite of Spanish basketball.
The six seasons he spent at Pamesa Valencia make him the American player who competed in the most campaigns with our men’s team. His impact on the game over the 230 matches he played wearing our jersey, all of them in domestic competitions, was so significant that more than thirty years later he remains Valencia Basket’s statistical leader in the Liga Endesa in two-point made field goals, blocks, and double-doubles.
After finishing his playing career, Branson remained very closely linked to Valencia Basket, frequently visiting our city and being one of the most applauded and fondly remembered players at the events commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Club’s founding.
In his memory, a minute of silence will be observed at the next home game of Valencia Basket’s men’s team, which will be played tomorrow at the Roig Arena against Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv.
The Club wishes to send strength and encouragement to his family during this very difficult time, especially to his daughter Natalia, who was an employee of our Club, and to convey all our support to them.
