Valencia Basket wrapped up its preseason with a 93–91 victory over Kosner Baskonia in the EncestaRías tournament final, a game decided on the last play thanks to two free throws from TJ Shorts (the taronja team’s top scorer with 22 points) and Baskonia failing to convert its final chance. After a balanced first quarter, Valencia Basket capitalized on a burst of three‑point inspiration from Puerto to build a small lead, which Baskonia trimmed to five by halftime with a stronger finish to the first half. The trend continued early in the second half, but the Vitoria side put together a run between the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth to take the lead. A five‑point play reignited Valencia’s offense, and Shorts stepped up to give the taronja team a narrow advantage, which Baskonia erased to enter the final three minutes tied.
