Valencia Basket men’s team returns home to face the difficult challenge of stopping the positive run of the competition’s most in-form team, AS Monaco (Thursday the 8th, 8:30 p.m., Roig Arena, #Vamos), in a EuroLeague Round 21 matchup.
The taronja side will need to show its best defensive version—the one that has allowed just 1 point per possession during its current streak of eight consecutive home wins in continental competition—to slow down the offensive machine of the league’s top-scoring team, which also leads in efficiency rating and assists.
To offset the physical toll of playing their fourth game in seven days, Valencia Basket draw confidence from having opened the week with a solid win in Belgrade and from the boost of playing in front of their fans, who will act as an extra source of energy in this demanding contest.
Although past meetings between these two teams suggest that the home side usually comes out on top, the first-round game ended in a 90–84 win for the Monaco team. Head coach Pedro Martínez will have his full roster available for this game.
Valencia Basket approach this matchup sitting in second place with a 14–6 record.
