Xavi Albert takes on the challenge of becoming head coach of Valencia Basket

Coach Xavi Albert (Valencia, July 17, 1987, age 38) has been chosen to lead our men’s team for the next two seasons after three seasons as an assistant coach for the men’s professional team. This won’t be Albert’s first time in the top coaching position for the Taronja, as he had to take over that role during the final stretch of the 2023–24 season for eleven games, securing the top seed in the Regular League in the final rounds of that season.

With this move, Valencia Basket is committed to maintaining a clear identity and a well-defined style of play by giving the opportunity to the head assistant coach of the past few seasons. And the club remains true to its philosophy of promoting talent from L’Alqueria del Basket once they are ready, bringing full circle the journey of a coach who has grown and excelled in our youth ranks and on the Spanish national team, culminating in his appointment as head coach of the men’s team.
