EuroLeague debut victory in a thriller in Turkey (94-96)

Valencia Basket secured the win in a tough, closely contested game, overcoming a fourth-quarter comeback attempt by the home team. TJ Shorts led the Taronja offense, ably supported by Nikola Mirotic in his debut, Jasiel Rivero in his return, Kam Taylor, and Armoni Brooks. In the closing moments, a basket by TJ Shorts proved decisive for the victory.

Xavi Albert’s comments

 “A very tough game for an opener—lots of ups and downs. We started poorly, especially on defense, giving them space and good scoring opportunities. We began playing better by switching defenses, managing to control the game in the second and third quarters. In the final quarter, when they changed their game plan to run pick-and-pop plays, we struggled to contain that; still, a win is a win. We did a good job on the offensive glass and also controlled our defensive rebounds, which is key for us.”
