Valencia Basket women's professional team assistant coach Glòria Estopà won the gold medal tonight at the U20 Women's EuroBasket held in Matosinhos (Portugal), serving as assistant coach for the Spanish national team, which claimed the win in the final against Lithuania with a score of 50–102. Estopà, who had coached the affiliated team La Cordà de Paterna in the LF Challenge for the past four seasons, was the new addition to the coaching staff of Valencia Basket women’s team this summer, joining as an assistant coach.
The national team, led by Isaac Fernández as head coach, broke open the game in the second quarter after a closely contested first, going into halftime with a significant lead. The Spanish U20 team further extended their advantage in both the third and final quarters to secure yet another championship for Spanish basketball.
This medal adds to the summer 2025 haul for Valencia Basket' women’s team. The taronja squad had already collected four silver medals earned by Raquel Carrera, María Araujo, Awa Fam, and Elena Buenavida at the recent EuroBasket Women with the senior national team, as well as bronze medals won by Rubén Burgos and Marta Sorlí as head coach and assistant coach respectively at the U19 Women’s World Cup.
